Jalen Brunson knew what was at stake.

He wasn’t going to let a bad wrist derail him.

Brunson, speaking exclusively with The Post’s “New York Got Game” show, opened up about the left wrist injury he played through during the NBA Finals.

“I just knew that the opportunity rarely presents itself to be in a position like that,” Brunson said at his “Jalen Brunson Charity Golf Classic” — benefiting his “Second Round Foundation” — at Westchester Country Club on Monday. “So I just wasn’t going to let something that seemed minor take me out. Just (do) whatever needed to be done, (then) focus on it afterwards.”

Early last month, Brunson underwent a minor procedure to repair a tendon issue in his dominant left wrist and hand, The Post previously reported.

Whenever he went into his natural shooting motion, the tendon painfully rubbed against the bone in his left wrist.

Brunson previously said he began feeling the pain during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals, where the Knicks swept the Cavaliers.

He then played through it for all of the Finals against the Spurs, during which the Knicks secured their first championship since 1973 and Brunson won Finals MVP.

He has been seen wearing a sling and more recently a cast since the operation. The recovery timeline was six to eight weeks, meaning he should be ready to go by the time training camp opens in September.

“It’s reminded me a lot about patience, for sure,” Brunson said. “But it’s a steady process and it’s something that, honestly, it is what it is. It’s something I attack every day. Just find a way to continue to improve.”

Despite the injury, Brunson averaged 32.6 points and 4.6 assists per game in the Finals. And he delivered a performance for the ages as the Knicks closed out the series in Game 5, recording 45 points — compared to 49 from all of his teammates combined.

He was not going to be denied.
