Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday took a dig at the protest by MPs of constituent parties of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He has said that for the first time he has seen the ruling party MPs protesting and the opposition has forced them to do so.
Priyanka Gandhi also said that now Home Minister Amit Shah should come to the House and give a statement on the issue of action against students. NDA MPs are raising hue and cry against Rahul Gandhi and Congress in Parliament. He has expressed anger over the lathi charge on students protesting against rigging in government jobs in Jharkhand.
Why are BJP MPs protesting?
What did Congress-SP MPs say?
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said, 'When there was a two-day discussion on education on which Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi presented their views, on which many statements came from the BJP government and Jitendra Singh ji presented his views. Where was Amit Shah ji then? Then why did you not participate in the discussion?
Congress MP Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding said, 'For so many days we have been saying that Amit Shah should come to the House and give a statement. Who fired the pellet gun, who lathi charged the students? Answer this.
Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav said, 'We want statements on both the issues, but the Home Minister is not at all ready to come to the House and give a statement. This is because information received from RTI shows that at least ten children have been injured by pellet guns. This is in sharp contrast to the government's earlier claims that pellet guns were not used, which proves that they were lying.
What did Jharkhand Mukti Morcha say?
JMM MP Mahua Maji said, 'Talks have been held with the students of Jharkhand. Ministers of Congress, JMM, RJD were included in it. 98 percent of the demands of the students have been accepted, there are only 2 demands which are not within the purview of the government. CGL's case is before the court. Many people are working there. It is not within the scope to cancel it, if we do so then it will be injustice to many youth. For this also the Chief Minister has said that he will look into this also but some time is needed. The students agreed but BJP was instigating the students.
Why are protests taking place in Parliament?
NDA MPs took out a march in the Parliament complex on Tuesday against the use of police force on protesting students in Jharkhand. Demanded answers from Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Congress is also included in the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha led government in the state.
