Ajay Devgan will host the new season of the show Crime Patrol on Sony TV. Just hours after the news of hosting the show in place of Soni came out, Devgan confirmed his joining the show by sharing a teaser on Instagram. The show will come on TV from 31st August. Although the time has not been confirmed yet.
In the promos, Ajay is saying, ‘In childhood, we are often taught not to talk to strangers and to lock the house at night, but nowadays many such cases are coming to light in which the crime has not been committed by a stranger but by someone close to us. They know the way to our house and sometimes even have the keys. This is shocking. This time, in Crime Patrol, we want to highlight similar cases that have shocked the entire country. We do not need to be afraid, rather we have to understand that this is happening even today. In the new season of Crime Patrol, I will be with you in some such cases.
Although this is the first time that Ajay Devgan will be seen hosting a fictional reality show on TV, talking about his decision the actor said in a press statement, “Associating with a show like Crime Patrol feels like a responsibility towards my fans and the audience. The show has set an example in understanding crime stories and creating awareness among the audience, inspiring them to be more vigilant towards the people around them and those they interact with and trust. As we bring forward some stories inspired by the cases that have shaken the nation, I hope and believe that I can help and guide the audience to understand these stories with caution rather than fear.
The first host of the show was Diwakar Pundir who hosted the show from 2003 to the end of 2004. He hosted season 1.
On second position, actor Shakti Anand hosted the show from 2004-2006. He worked in the first season.
After this, Anoop Soni and Sakshi Tanwar together hosted the 2010 season. However, Anup also hosted the seasons of 2018 and 2019. Anup hosted both Crime Patrol Dastak and Saatkar.
After this, Sanjeev Tyagi remained the host for some time. He hosted the season 2017-18. He remained anchor for a very short time.
Talking about women, there was Sonali Kulkarni of the special series who hosted from 2020 to 2021.
Divyanka Tripathi hosted the show. He hosted the show from 2019-21. He hosted very few episodes
Renuka Sahane hosted the show in the year 2021 and hosted the series Gumrah Satkar Bachpan Ki.
Then Ashutosh Rana took over this responsibility and he hosted the show till the year 2021-2022.
Nakuul Mehta hosted the show in the year 2024. Now Ajay Devgan is bringing a new season in 2026.
Nakul had done series of episodes on crimes and issues to youth. He also hosted some episodes in the year 2025.
