Mumbai On the occasion of Independence Day, the excitement has intensified regarding the biggest clash of the year at the box office. Sunny Deol's much awaited film 'Bantwara 1947' and Emraan Hashmi's 'Awarapan 2' are going to face each other in theaters on August 14. However, the initial figures of advance booking coming out three days before the release have shocked the trade scholars and increased the concern of Sunny Deol's makers.

Emraan Hashmi's big lead in advance booking

According to recent reports, 'Awarapan 2', the sequel of Emraan Hashmi's cult classic film, is getting a tremendous response from the audience. Let us tell you that this film has left behind Sunny Deol's 'Bantwara 1947' in the initial phase of advance booking. The tickets of 'Awarapan 2' are being sold rapidly in metro cities and multiplexes, due to which the film is expected to get a strong and explosive opening at the box office.

Patriotism versus crime-thriller contest

This Independence Day weekend, audiences will get to see films of two completely different genres. 'Partition 1947' is a period drama film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions. Based on the backdrop of India-Pakistan partition, the film stars Sunny Deol along with Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi in the lead roles. Large scale patriotism and mass appeal is expected from this film.

On the other hand, if we talk about 'Awarapan 2', this film is an intense, romantic, crime-action thriller film directed by Nitin Kakkar. Disha Patani is going to be seen with Emraan Hashmi in this. Due to the excellent response to the songs and trailer of the film, it is witnessing a tremendous craze among the youth.

Makers' big decision on ticket prices

In view of this big conflict, the distributors of both the films have taken a big strategic decision. To attract the audience to the theatres, tickets of both the films are being sold at popular i.e. normal rates instead of blockbuster i.e. expensive rates. It is believed that with this decision, there may be a huge increase in the total footfall of both the films i.e. the number of viewers.

Will Sunny Deol do 'Gadar' again?

Trade analysts believe that even though 'Awarapan 2' has taken an initial lead in advance booking, it may prove to be too early to underestimate Sunny Deol. Sunny Deol has an old and historical record on the Independence Day weekend. 'Bantwara 1947' is expected to get huge support on single screens and mass centres, which can turn the tables on the day of release. Now it remains to be seen that when both these films will hit the theaters on August 14, which film will win the real prize at the box office.
