Delhi High Alert: As the holy occasion of 15th August i.e. Independence Day approaches, the country's capital Delhi has been transformed into an impenetrable fort. Like every year, this time also the shadow of terrorism is looming over the Independence Day celebrations, keeping in view which Delhi Police and all the security agencies have completed their preparations. Delhi Police has issued high alert in the entire city. Patrolling has been increased in all the crowded markets, railway stations, bus stands and sensitive areas of the capital. As part of this comprehensive security arrangement, Delhi Police has pasted posters of 19 most wanted terrorists at main places of the city so that common citizens also remain alert.

Alert mode of security agencies

Delhi Police's Special Cell, Crime Branch, Railway Police and local police stations have come on full alert mode. The security arrangements at the Red Fort, the main venue of the August 15 event, have been made multi-layered. Intensive checking of vehicles is being done on all routes entering Delhi. Suspicious people are being kept under strict surveillance. Apart from this, 24-hour monitoring is being done with the help of CCTV cameras. Police officials say that soldiers have been deployed at every nook and corner to prevent any untoward incident.

Dreaded faces included in the poster

The posters put up by the police in public places include photos and names of 19 notorious terrorists who conspired against the country. These include members of different dangerous terrorist organizations. In these posters, pictures of Indian Mujahideen's Riyaz Bhatkal and Shabandari Mohammad Iqbal alias Iqbal Bhatkal have been prominently displayed. The faces of Mohammad Sharjeel Akhtar, Abu Sufiyan, Mohammad Omar and Syed Mohammad Arshiyan, associated with Al-Qaeda, are also included in the poster.

Keep an eye on these terrorists too

In these posters, not only the terrorists active in the country but also the terrorists carrying out anti-India activities from abroad have been included. The names of Ranjit Singh alias Neeta and Paramjit Singh Pamma are in this list of most wanted terrorists. Apart from this, photographs of Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala and Harvinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda, Wadhwa Singh Babbar and Gurmeet Singh Bagga associated with 'Babbar Khalsa International' have also been released. The police is keeping a close watch on all these.

Appeal for help from public and reward

Delhi Police has also appealed to the general public for cooperation through these posters. It is written on the poster that if any citizen gets any information or clue about any of these 19 terrorists, he should immediately inform the police. For this, emergency number 112 of Delhi Police Control Room has also been issued. The police administration has made it clear that the person giving correct information will be given appropriate reward and his identity will be kept completely secret so that his safety is maintained.

Annual Security Process

According to senior Delhi Police officials, putting up posters of wanted terrorists like this before Independence Day is a precautionary and part of a regular process. The main objective of releasing the list of these terrorists who are a threat to the security of India and Delhi is to make the common citizens aware. When people recognize these faces around them, they will remain alert and will be able to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police. With this public cooperation the security system becomes stronger.
