British carmaker Morris Garages (MG) has increased the price of its SUV 'Majester' by ₹1.5 lakh. This SUV was launched about three months ago. The company has increased the price of Magister for the first time since its launch in late May. It was initially priced at ₹40.99 lakh, but that price was part of an introductory offer, which has now ended.
After this price hike, the starting price of Magister now stands at ₹42.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is worth noting that this price increase is only for the 4×2 variant, which is available in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. There is no change in the price of the top-end 4×4 model and it starts at ₹44.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, Magister competes with SUVs like Toyota Fortuner.
**Largest SUV in terms of size**
The Magister is a full-size SUV that is long, wide and tall, giving it a strong road presence. Its length is 5,046 mm, width is 2,016 mm and height is 1,870 mm. Its wheelbase is also quite large, which is 2,950 mm. These dimensions make the Magister the largest SUV available in the Indian market.
**Powerful Engine**
The Magister's engine is as impressive as its size. This SUV has a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine, which generates power of 212.55 bhp and torque of 478.5 Nm. It also has an 8-speed automatic gearbox. For off-roading enthusiasts, it gets the option of 4-wheel drive with multiple terrain modes. Additionally, features like three differential locks and low-range transfer case make it a strong SUV for off-roading.
**SUV equipped with great features**
As powerful as Magester is in terms of size and engine performance, its features are also equally great. It is equipped with many luxury features, such as front seats that come with ventilation with multiple modes and massage function. The driver's seat features 12-way electric adjustment with lumbar support. Apart from this, it also includes panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker JBL sound system, 64-color ambient lighting, roof-mounted AC vents, automatic climate control, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and wireless smartphone charger.
