Govinda called off his engagement for Neelam Kothari

Govinda first met Neelam during the shooting of his debut film, Ilzaam, in 1986. He was mesmerised by Neelam’s beauty from day one. Soon, their on-screen chemistry paved way for the off-screen love story too. It is to be noted that while Govinda was working with Neelam, he was dating Sunita and would often compare the actress with Sunita. In an old interview with Stardust, Govinda revealed an instance when he called off his engagement with Sunita for Neelam. His constant comparisons to Neelam irked his then-girlfriend, Sunita, so that she would get into arguments with the actor. During one of those arguments, Govinda decided to part ways with Sunita and broke his engagement.

Govinda was quite vocal about his feelings for Neelam and how he always wished to marry her. He revealed that he considered her the ideal woman in his life and that he had already begun to visualise her as his wife.

Govinda openly spoke about his attraction for Divya Bharti

During the making of Shola Aur Shabnam, there were rumours about Divya and Govinda’s relationship. In a throwback interview with Stardust, Govinda talked about his fondness for the gorgeous Divya Bharti while he was married to Sunita. Not just this, the actor talked about the possibility of his second marriage amid his and Divya’s dating reports. Speaking about the same, he shared: “Divya is a very sensuous girl. It's difficult for a man to resist her. I know Sunita is going to be very upset with all this. But she should know that I am still resisting Divya's charms. I haven't given in to the temptation as yet. Tomorrow, who knows, I may get involved again, and then, maybe I will marry the girl I get involved with. But Sunita should be prepared for it.”

Govinda was allegedly head-over-heels in love with Rani Mukerji

Not just Divya, Govinda was also allegedly involved with actress, Rani Mukerji. It was during the making of the film, Hadh Kar Di Aapne when Govinda met Rani. The two developed a great friendship during the making of the film. However, as per many reports, their friendship soon turned into love. During the making of many romantic scenes, Govinda and Rani allegedly fell in love. During that time, tabloids reported that Govinda had gifted Rani many expensive items, including a luxury car and an apartment. When Sunita got to know about Govinda and Rani’s relationship reports, she got so upset that she decided to leave him and went to her parents’ home along with her kids.

Once Rani Mukerji reacted to the news of her affair with Govinda. The actress rubbished the reports, and also called Govinda a ‘hamdard’. Speaking about the same to a leading publication in a throwback interview, Rani said: “The press has always assumed that any heroine who works with Govinda in three or four films is having an affair with him. I am not the first one to be linked with him. I know just one thing that it's difficult to find a nice friend, a hamdard like Govinda.”

She is all set to mark her Bollywood debut with Govinda in the upcoming film, Roopa. The film will mark Govinda’s return to the big screen. Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja had been giving subtle hints about the actor’s linkup with Komal. However, recently the 62-year-old actor was spotted with Komal at the Mumbai airport. Their appearance quickly became a talking point on social media, with reports connecting Komal to the earlier speculations surrounding Govinda’s personal life. After his airport appearance with Komal, a pap asked Sunita about her reaction to the viral video, to which she stated, “Vinash Kale Viprit Buddhi.”

Sunita Ahuja once in an interview with MissMalini shared the name of Govinda's mysterious girlfriend with whom he was having an extra-marital affair. Sunita revealed having issues with the name Komal and had said, “Is your name, Komal? Yeh naam thoda gadbad hai. I hate the name Komal.”
