Arjun Bijlani has come out in support of his longtime friend Mouni Roy after a recent dinner outing sparked dating rumours involving the two actors. In an exclusive conversation with Telly Talk India, Arjun dismissed the speculation and questioned why a long-standing friendship was being given a romantic angle. The actor revealed that he initially chose to ignore the rumours but decided to respond after his friends called out the narrative. Arjun also claimed that someone has been trying to defame Mouni for some time, pointing to previous comments about her sexuality and drinking. He stressed that such remarks are unfair and inappropriate.

Arjun Bijlani SLAMS Dating Rumours With Mouni Roy

Arjun Bijlani and Mouni Roy have been close friends for years, and their friendship has often been admired by fans. However, a recent dinner outing involving the two actors led to speculation online, with a paparazzi page suggesting a romantic angle to their meeting. Arjun has now addressed the rumours in an exclusive conversation with us, making it clear that there was nothing unusual about the outing.

"If seven or eight people are going for dinner, it’s not like we are going for the first time. We have gone out for dinner together 50 times. Mouni and I have also gone out for dinner alone and chilled together. So, I honestly don’t know why someone wrote that," Arjun said. The actor revealed that he initially decided to ignore the reports. However, after his friends reacted to the speculation, he felt it was important to address it.

"I initially ignored it, but I think Krystle (D'Souza) said, 'What nonsense,' because she knows me. People who know us obviously commented on the post. So I felt that if my friends were speaking up and I didn’t, it would be wrong," he said. Arjun added that he wanted to give a 'fair statement' and call out what he considered a 'very stupid' narrative.

Arjun Says Someone Is Trying To Defame Mouni

The actor went beyond addressing the dating rumours and claimed that Mouni has been subjected to unfair commentary for some time. "And honestly, I feel that for quite some time now, someone or the other has been trying to defame Mouni. I don’t know who," Arjun said. He pointed out that Mouni has recently faced comments and speculation concerning different aspects of her personal life.

"She is going through a tough phase in her life. First, there were some comments about her sexuality, then someone said something about her drinking. I mean, everyone goes to parties. Everyone enjoys themselves. That’s normal," he said. Arjun argued that such comments should not be used to judge someone's character. He also emphasised that while he personally remains unaffected by such gossip, the same may not necessarily be true for everyone.

He further pointed out that he and   have a long history together and added, "And coming after us, Mouni and I have done a show together, we have made videos together!" Arjun said. His wife, Neha Swamy, also joined the conversation and pointed out, "And that day I was also supposed to go. I just happened to not go," Neha said.

Arjun recalled that they eventually laughed about the entire situation.

 's friendship dates back several years to their time working together on Ektaa Kapoor's popular supernatural television series Naagin. Their on-screen association eventually developed into a close friendship away from the cameras. Previously, Arjun had taken to social media to respond to the dating rumours after a video of him and Mouni leaving dinner together began circulating. Arjun said that two people who have shared a friendship for more than 15 years do not suddenly become a couple simply because they were seen together.
