Tezzbuzz Desk- During the monsoon session of Parliament, there is continuous confrontation between the ruling party and the opposition over issues to student agitation and demonstrations. Meanwhile, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju targeted Congress and Rahul Gandhi and said that the government had offered discussion, but the opposition did not accept it.
Rijiju said that the government had made it clear a day earlier that it was ready for a detailed discussion in the House on the incidents that took place during the student movement. He claimed that Home Minister Amit Shah was also present with full preparation to answer on this issue.
'Amit Shah was sitting with full preparation'
Kiren Rijiju said that there was complete preparation from the government's side for the discussion. All the NDA MPs were also present in the House in the hope that the issue to the student movement would be discussed. He alleged that Congress did not allow discussion. According to Rijiju, the government left no stone unturned for discussion and reply, but the opposition is not allowing the House to function smoothly.
Rijiju said that now it has become clear to the country who is running away from the discussion. He accused the Congress that instead of discussing inside the House, the party is going outside and creating ruckus.
'Rahul Gandhi cannot run away from discussion'
The Parliamentary Affairs Minister also targeted Rahul Gandhi and said that the Leader of Opposition had been demanding answers from Home Minister Amit Shah for many days. Now that the Home Minister himself is ready to answer in the House, Rahul Gandhi should not step back from the discussion. Rijiju said that in democracy any issue should be resolved through discussion. He accused the opposition of continuously demanding answers from the government, but when the government is ready to answer, it withdraws from the discussion.
He said that Rahul Gandhi should come to the House and listen to the reply of the Home Minister and also present his views. According to him, merely making allegations and disrupting the proceedings of the House is not the solution to any problem.
Question to Rahul Gandhi on Jharkhand issue also
Kiren Rijiju also raised the issue of the ongoing student movement and police action in Jharkhand. He asked Rahul Gandhi to respond to the incidents in Jharkhand. Rijiju said that there is a coalition government of Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in Jharkhand. In such a situation, Rahul Gandhi should answer regarding the students' demonstration and police action there.
He said that if Rahul Gandhi raises questions on matters to individual states and the central government, then he should also clarify his position on the incidents in those states where Congress is in power or is part of the government.
'Government ready for discussion'
Rijiju reiterated that the Central Government is ready to discuss the entire incident to the student movement in Parliament. He said that Home Minister Amit Shah was also ready to answer on this topic in the House. According to the Union Minister, the government wants that all the parties should present their views in the House and there should be a detailed discussion on the issues. However, he alleged that the proceedings of Parliament were being affected due to the attitude of Congress and opposition parties.
After these allegations by Rijiju, the political rhetoric between the ruling party and the opposition in Parliament is likely to intensify further. Now it remains to be seen when the issue to the student movement can be discussed in detail in the House.
