New Delhi. Delhi High Court on Tuesday directed the Central Government to immediately provide additional Personal Security Officer (PSO) to Bihar's Purnia MP Pappu Yadav. The court gave this order during the hearing on the petition regarding increasing the security of Yadav. Purnia MP Pappu Yadav had submitted a representation to the Union Home Ministry to increase security, citing death threats received by him after participating in the protest against NEET scam in Parliament and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

Advocate Ashish Dixit, appearing for the Central Government, told the court that Yadav's representation is being considered and a decision will be taken within three weeks. The court, meanwhile, directed the Center to provide additional PSOs and fixed the next date for further hearing on the matter.
