IND vs AFG T20I: Afghanistan Cricket Board has confirmed the dates of the 3 T20 International match series to be played against India. In a statement issued on Monday, August 10, the Afghanistan Cricket Board said that all these matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on September 13, 15 and 17. ACB also made it clear that BCCI has also given its consent on these dates.
India's Afghanistan tour will start from September 13
According to the letter available with Cricbuzz, Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Naseeb Khan has written to his business partners that Afghanistan's India tour 2026 will be held between September 13 and September 17. He has confirmed that BCCI has given green signal for these dates and the venues for these matches have also been decided. Let us tell you that earlier in June, the only test match between India and Afghanistan was played in Mullanpur. After this, Team India also played a series of 3 ODI matches against Afghanistan. Now after 2 months, Afghanistan team will tour India for 3rd T20I series.
Afghanistan board wrote letter to BCCI
Afghanistan Cricket Board further said that the official announcement of this series is yet to be made by the authorities, but ACB is sending this letter to BCCI to give definite information about the dates and stadium. Along with this, the companies having telecast and media rights of the matches have been asked to start preparations, but it is yet to be officially announced publicly by ACB and BCCI.
According to reports, Afghanistan Cricket Board has also given the option to BCCI to shift a match to this day due to Ganesh Chaturthi on 14th September, on which the final decision is yet to be taken. After the information about the schedule of this series has come, the possibility has increased that India's possible tour of Bangladesh, which was to be held in the beginning of September, may be cancelled.
India's tour of Bangladesh may be canceled
This will be a big blow for Bangladesh, because with the Afghanistan T20I series being decided, Team India's tour of Bangladesh now seems almost impossible. Actually, Bangladesh Cricket Board wanted to organize 6 matches from 1 to 13 September, but one match of Afghanistan T20I series is falling between this time. Now only three weeks are left for the matches, so unless any major decision is taken by the government, this tour can be considered cancelled.
