Harry Kane is expected to extend his contract with Bayern Munich at the earliest possible opportunity. After taking a short break following the World Cup, he is first due to return to training, after which formal discussions are expected to begin.

As recently as last weekend, British newspaper The Times reported that the striker is likely to sign a new deal soon. The proposed agreement would run until the summer of 2029 and keep his salary broadly in line with his current earnings, at around 25 million euros gross.

There are now several signs suggesting that an agreement could be announced before long.

Munich-based newspaper Abendzeitung has also reported on the upcoming talks, which could produce a result very quickly. According to that report, if everything proceeds as planned, the long-awaited official announcement could arrive as early as late August or early September.

Bayern are optimistic, particularly because not only Kane himself but also his entire family feel very settled in Munich. Kane enjoys a calm and well-ordered environment there, allowing him to concentrate on both his private life and football without the intense media spotlight that follows him in England.

Support for him has recently come from Herbert Hainer, Uli Hoeness and others. Everyone in charge at Munich views the England international as a role model and, at the same time, as one of the squad’s most important players. That is why a contract extension is not expected to collapse over the difference of one extra year or one million in annual salary.

So the situation currently looks very positive. Alongside Kane, Michael Olise is also expected to sign a new contract soon, although talks with the Frenchman are not yet as advanced as those with the English striker. Olise attracted strong interest this summer, with Real Madrid in particular repeatedly linked with him.
