DPL 2026: North Delhi Strikers win by 8 wickets with half-centuries from Sarthak-Vaibhav

New Delhi.Thanks to the brilliant innings of Sarthak Ranjan and Vaibhav Kandpal, North Delhi Strikers defeated West Delhi Lions by eight wickets in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026. In the match that lasted till late night on Tuesday night at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, North Delhi Strikers achieved the target of 147 runs by losing just two wickets.

West Delhi Lions, who came to bat first after the toss, could score only 146/7 runs in 20 overs in front of the disciplined bowling of North Delhi bowlers. The Lions added 36 runs for the opening wicket, but the team’s middle order faltered after Ankit Kumar was out after scoring 10 runs in 10 balls.

North Delhi Strikers kept taking wickets continuously and reduced West Delhi’s score to 59/5. After this, Mayank Gusain and Sombir Sheokand took over the innings by making an important partnership of 68 runs for the sixth wicket. Shyokand scored 34 runs on 24 balls, while Gusain remained unbeaten on 42 runs on 28 balls. Mayank Dagar was the most successful bowler for North Delhi Strikers. He took two wickets for just 14 runs in four overs.

Sarthak and Vaibhav made the goal easy

North Delhi Strikers, who set out to chase the target of 147 runs, started with a bang. Captain Sarthak Ranjan and Vaibhav Kandpal put the team on the path to victory by making a brilliant partnership of 106 runs for the first wicket. Sarthak batted aggressively and scored 57 runs in 30 balls. Even after his dismissal, Vaibhav continued his aggressive style. He scored an unbeaten 64 runs on 43 balls to take the team to the target. North Delhi Strikers achieved the target by losing two wickets and demonstrated their dominance brilliantly in the entire match.
