The Indian electric two-wheeler industry has reached its biggest ever sales milestone in July 2026. According to data released by FADA – Federation of Automobile Dealers Association, the share of electric vehicles in total two-wheeler sales in the country has increased to over 11 percent.
Strong performance of industry sector
- Crossing the 2 lakh mark: A total of 2,04,362 electric bikes were retailed in July 2026 for the first time in history.
- Annual growth: Compared to 1,08,516 units in July 2025, this year there has been an increase of 88.3 percent.
- Growth during the month: Compared to 1,04,963 units in June 2026, a growth of 4.8 percent was recorded in July.
- Total Market Share: The share of electric vehicles in total two-wheeler sales has reached 11.2 percent.

Sales and performance of major companies
1. TVS Motor Company: TVS has retained its number one position with models like iQube and Orbiter. The company recorded a year-on-year growth of 135.2 percent, selling 55,499 units in July 2026 (23,592 units in July 2025). With this, TVS has gained 27.2 percent share in the e-bike market.
2. Bajaj Auto: Bajaj took the second position with sales of 45,613 units. The company reported a year-on-year growth of 121.9 percent (20,557 units in July 2025). Bajaj's 'Chetak' electric scooter is gaining popularity with customers with various battery options.
3. Aether Energy: Aether retained the third position with sales of 30,357 units (17,834 units in July 2025, a growth of 70.2%). Aether currently sells the 450 and Rizta series. The company 'Konarc' is going to launch an affordable scooter for the common man on the Community Day on August 29.

4. Hero Vida: Hero MotoCorp grabbed the fourth position by selling 22,900 Vida scooters. Hero reported a growth of 111.3 percent compared to 10,835 units in July 2025.
5. Ola Electric: Ola slipped to fifth place with sales of 14,106 units. Ola sales declined by 23.5 percent compared to 18,450 units in July 2025.

- Greaves Electric: 10,125 units (137.3% growth, 4,266 units in July 2025).
- River Mobility: 5,954 units (254.4% growth, 1,680 units in July 2025).
- B-Gauss: 5,518 units (213% growth, 1,763 units in July 2025).
