New Delhi : In many states of the country for the past few days heavy rain seems to be happening. Rains have literally wreaked havoc in states like Odisha, Jharkhand. Floods following heavy rains have disrupted life. Meanwhile, heavy rain, thunder and gusty winds have been warned in 19 states of the country. The wind speed can reach up to 90 km per hour in some areas.

Capital Delhi has also been warned of rain and wind speed of 30 to 40 km per hour. There is a risk of landslides in hilly states and lightning in eastern states. Monsoon will remain active in many parts of the country. According to the Meteorological Department forecast, 19 states including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala have been warned of heavy rain, thunder and gusty winds.

Meanwhile, the wind speed can reach 90 kilometers per hour in some areas. There is a risk of landslides in the hilly states and caution should also be taken regarding lightning in the eastern states.

Impact on road traffic

A warning of heavy rain and thunder has been issued for Delhi. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, winds can reach a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 36 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 29 degree Celsius. Roads are likely to get waterlogged and traffic disrupted during rains.

Heavy rains in many parts of Uttar Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh, heavy rain and thundershower warning has been issued for Meerut, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, Agra, Mathura, Kanpur, Bahraich, Balrampur, Ambedkar Nagar, Varanasi, Chandauli, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Shahjahanpur, Rampur, Unnao, Prayagraj, Deoria and Gorakhpur.
