The Social Welfare Department has released the complete schedule for the UP Scholarship Scheme for the 2026-27 academic year. The application process for students in classes 9 through 12 began on August 11, 2026. Meanwhile, applications for the 'Post-Tenth Scholarship' (for courses pursued after Class 12, such as graduation, post-graduation, diploma, ITI, etc.) will commence in September.
Eligible students can apply online within the specified dates. Students belonging to General, SC, ST, OBC, and minority categories are eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme.
**Application Dates for Classes 9 to 12**
Different deadlines have been set for students in classes 9 through 12. Renewal applications for students in classes 10 and 12 who are already receiving the scholarship will be accepted from August 11 to August 25, 2026. Meanwhile, students in classes 9 and 11 applying for the first time will have the opportunity to apply from August 11 to September 21, 2026.
**Applications for Post-Tenth Scholarship Starting in September**
Applications for students pursuing courses after Class 12—including graduation, post-graduation, diploma, and ITI—will begin on September 15, 2026. The deadline for renewal applications is October 15, while the deadline for new applicants is October 31, 2026.
**How to Apply**
Students must visit the official UP Scholarship website, scholarship.up.gov.in, to apply. Completing the 'One Time Registration' (OTR) is mandatory before applying. Subsequently, students must register under the relevant category and fill out the form. Once the application process is complete, a printout of the form must be submitted to the respective school or college. No application fee will be charged.
Documents Required
Documents such as an income certificate, residence certificate, caste certificate, bank passbook, photograph, mark sheet from the previous class, and Aadhaar card will be required during the application process. The student's bank account must be in their own name and linked to their Aadhaar. Generally, the benefits of the scheme will be available to eligible students whose parents have an annual income of up to ₹2 lakh.
