The Income Tax Department has announced a government job opportunity for individuals who have passed the 10th standard. Recruitment will be conducted for 7 Canteen Attendant posts in the department's Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh region. The application process for these posts began on August 11, 2026, and eligible candidates can apply online until August 31, 2026. Notably, no application fee will be charged to candidates for this recruitment. Selected candidates will be appointed at Pay Level-1 under the 7th Pay Commission, with a monthly salary ranging from ₹18,000 to ₹56,900. Selection will be based on a written examination and a skill test.

**Eligibility: 10th Pass Candidates Can Apply**
To apply for the Canteen Attendant post, candidates must have passed the 10th standard from a recognized board. Applicants must be Indian citizens. Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age as of August 31, 2026. Age relaxation of 3 years will be granted to the OBC category and 5 years to the SC/ST category. Persons with disabilities (PwD), ex-servicemen, and eligible central government employees will also receive age relaxation as per the rules.

**280 Candidates to be Shortlisted for Written Exam**
The department will shortlist 280 candidates for the written examination based on their 10th-standard marks; this means 40 candidates will get the opportunity to appear for the exam for each post. The written exam will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions, with each question carrying one mark. The paper will cover topics such as English comprehension, Hindi, food and nutrition, mathematics, and hygiene. A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. The examination will be held in Bhopal.

**Selection After Skill Test**
Candidates who qualify in the written examination will have to appear for a skill test worth 60 marks. This test will assess practical abilities regarding the preparation of food and beverages, food handling and serving, and maintaining cleanliness. This will be followed by document verification. The probation period for selected candidates will be two years.

Salary up to ₹56,900
The post of Canteen Attendant falls under the Group-C, non-gazetted, and non-ministerial category. Selected candidates will receive a salary ranging from ₹18,000 to ₹56,900 under Pay Level-1. In addition, Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other applicable benefits available to Central Government employees will also be provided.
