Bengaluru. There has been an uproar in Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Jail after the mobile phone was recovered from the barrack of former Janata Dal Secular MP 'Prajwal Revanna', who is jailed in sexual exploitation cases. In view of this grave lapse, the jail administration has taken major action and suspended an Assistant Superintendent, while a show cause notice has been issued to the Jail Chief Superintendent.

Revealed in a sudden raid
On the instructions of DGP Alok Kumar, the Central Crime Branch team conducted a surprise search operation for about four to five hours in the high-profile barracks of the jail on Tuesday. During this raid, a smartphone, pen drive and charger were recovered from 'Prajwal Revanna'. Apart from Revanna, a phone has also been recovered from another prisoner named Pratap Rai.

After such huge negligence in security came to light, the jail department immediately took strict action and suspended the assistant superintendent of the jail 'Eranna Rangpur' on charges of negligence on duty. Also, a show cause notice has been issued to Chief Superintendent of Bengaluru Central Jail 'Ansuch Kumar' and his reply has been sought.

New FIR registered
Let us tell you that a new criminal case has been registered against Prajwal Revanna and Pratap Rai for possessing prohibited material under Section 42 of the Prisons Act. Also, Jail Director General 'Alok Kumar' said that a detailed departmental inquiry has been started to find out how the Android phones and other devices reached inside the jail despite such tight security. However, after the investigation report comes, other employees involved in this collusion may also be blamed. It is worth noting that 'Prajwal Revanna' already has serious allegations of sexual harassment of women and making videos, due to which he is currently in jail in judicial custody.
