Lamborghini Revuelto SV previews its design and aerodynamics ahead of official debut next week

Lamborghini appears to be especially eager about its newest model, as the Sant’Agata Bolognese marque has lifted the curtain early on its major 2026 Monterey Car Week appearance by announcing on Thursday that it is claiming the production-car lap record at Germany’s Hockenheimring with the new, now officially confirmed Revuelto SV.

The latest Lamborghini Super Veloce is shown here wearing camouflage, but that disguise will come off on August 14 at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering. Its Hockenheimring lap of 1:41.6 was set by driver Marco Mapelli.

That said, while Lamborghini says it has secured the production-car record, the Mercedes-AMG One has a strong counterpoint. Maro Engel recorded a 1:38.6 in the AMG at the same circuit—and although the One is produced in extremely limited numbers, it is still, technically, a production car that turned a clearly quicker lap than the Revuelto SV. Looking at race machinery, the GT3 lap record at Hockenheimring is quicker still: a 1:37.3 set by a Ferrari 296 GT3.

Even so, a 1:41 lap is hardly anything to dismiss. “Every element of the car has been developed with the goal of taking performance to an even higher level, enhancing the driving engagement and emotion that have always defined our brand,” CEO Stephan Winkelmann said.

If you were expecting concrete details about the car itself, those will have to wait until its reveal at The Quail. Lamborghini did not tease any specifications or highlight any major changes compared with the standard Revuelto. Even so, test driver Marco Mapelli did reveal that this SV “has reached a level of performance we had never experienced before at Lamborghini.”

The images do, however, point to a far more aggressive aerodynamic package than the standard Revuelto carries, with a distinct front bumper, side sills, and rear wing visible. Additional flaps can also be seen extending from the rear, along with a very dramatic diffuser. It will almost certainly deliver more power from its hybrid V-12 powertrain, along with a more track-oriented suspension setup and upgraded brakes, wheels, and tyres.

All of the Revuelto SV upgrades will be fully disclosed next week, so more details on the next step in Lamborghini performance are just around the corner.
