Exam to be held in 3 shifts on September 13
The papers for the UPSC CDS 2 Examination 2026 will be conducted at three different times. According to the released schedule, the English paper will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. This will be followed by the General Knowledge exam from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM and the Elementary Mathematics paper from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
451 vacancies for CDS 2
The CDS examination is used to recruit officers for the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and Officers Training Academy. A total of 451 vacancies have been designated across various courses for the CDS 2 Examination 2026. These include the Indian Military Academy (Dehradun), Indian Naval Academy (Ezhimala), Air Force Academy (Hyderabad), and Officers Training Academy (Chennai). UPSC issued the notification for the CDS 2 exam on May 20, and the application deadline was set for June 9.
Admit card to be released before the exam
E-admit cards will be issued to eligible candidates for the CDS 2 examination. The admit card will be made available on the last working day of the week preceding the exam date. Candidates will be able to download it from the official UPSC website. The Commission will not send admit cards via post or email. Candidates must carry a valid photo identity proof along with their admit card to the examination center.
Instructions regarding entry to the examination center
According to UPSC guidelines, the gates of the examination center will close 30 minutes before the start of each examination session. No candidate will be allowed entry after this time; therefore, candidates are advised to reach the center punctually.
Use only black ballpoint pens for OMR sheets
For the CDS 2 examination, candidates must use only black ballpoint pens to fill out the OMR sheets. The use of pencils or ink pens is not permitted. Candidates must exercise great care when filling in details such as their roll number and test booklet series code on the OMR sheet; any errors or omissions in this regard could lead to the cancellation of the answer sheet. Additionally, there is a provision for negative marking for incorrect answers to objective-type questions in the CDS 2 examination. Candidates are advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
