Delhi: Former captain of the Indian cricket team, Ajinkya Rahane is now going to leave the cricket field and start his new innings in the commentary box. Rahane will be seen doing Test commentary for the first time in the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka starting from August 15. He will be seen as an expert for Sony Sports Network and Sony Liv.

New role after 16 years of international career

37-year-old Rahane has recently said goodbye to his 16-year long international cricket career. Now he will use his long sports experience outside the field. Part of his new role will be the responsibility of explaining the players' strategy, team decisions and important turning points of the match in the test matches lasting five days.

Excellent record in test

Rahane's contribution to Indian Test cricket has been very important. He scored 5,077 runs in 85 test matches. During this period, he scored 12 centuries and 26 half-centuries. His experience of playing in foreign conditions and facing pressure-filled matches can be especially visible in the commentary.

Rahane said that through commentary he will get a chance to understand Test cricket from a new perspective and convey his knowledge to the audience. He said that he is excited to convey the decisions, strategies and important events taking place during the match to the fans in an easy way.
