New Delhi: iPhone buyers in India may soon have to spend more as reports suggest Apple could increase the prices of its smartphones by around $100 (nearly ₹10,000) with the launch of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series.

The reported price hike could impact not only the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models but also existing iPhone variants that remain available in the market.

iPhone 18 Pro Launch Could Bring Major Price Revision

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, Apple is reportedly preparing for a wider price increase that could come around September 8, when the company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and its first book-style foldable iPhone.

However, Apple has not officially confirmed the launch date or any changes in pricing. If the reported hike is implemented, buyers of current models such as the iPhone 17, iPhone Air and iPhone 17e could also see higher prices.

Existing iPhone Models May Become More Expensive

Currently, the iPhone 17 starts at ₹82,900 in India for the 256GB storage variant. The iPhone Air is available at around ₹1,19,900, while the iPhone 17e is priced at ₹64,900.

With a possible ₹10,000 increase, the starting prices of these models could rise to approximately ₹92,900 for the iPhone 17, ₹1,29,900 for the iPhone Air and ₹74,900 for the iPhone 17e.

Why Could Apple Increase Prices?

The possible price hike is reportedly linked to rising manufacturing expenses and increasing component costs. Higher spending across Apple's hardware supply chain has fueled speculation that the company may revise prices to maintain profit margins.

Earlier reports had also suggested that Apple was considering a price increase ahead of the iPhone 18 Pro launch.

iPhone 18 Series Expected to Bring New Features

The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is expected to arrive with premium upgrades, while Apple is also reportedly working on its first foldable iPhone with a book-style design.

The company may discontinue some older Pro models after introducing the new lineup, following its usual product cycle. For now, the reported ₹10,000 price increase remains unconfirmed. Apple has not made any official announcement regarding pricing, and buyers will have to wait until the launch event for final details.
