Arsenal midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly has been tipped for a possible exit this summer.

The Arsenal midfielder has been taken aback by reports linking him with Premier League rivals.

It had been reported that Arsenal were prepared to cash in, with football.london exclusively revealing that Chelsea were interested in the player.

However, despite the Gunners having completed the signing of Bruno Guimaraes in recent days, that is apparently not the situation.

A well-connected Arsenal source, Hand of Arsenal — which has broken news on signings, line-ups and more over the past couple of years to establish itself as a reliable online presence — has responded to what it described as the "noise" surrounding Lewis-Skelly.

"Skelly is fully Arsenal through and through," the account said.

"The noise today did not come from the player side at all. In fact, they were shocked at reports and confused. The boy loves Arsenal but the interest in him is real."

Lewis-Skelly broke into Arsenal's first XI in the 2023/24 season as a left-back during an injury crisis that sidelined several first-team players, before signing a lucrative contract extension last summer.

The first half of last season proved difficult for the youngster, with Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie ahead of him in the pecking order. But after making his mark in central midfield, he managed to displace Martin Zubimendi, played a prominent role in the run-in and started against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.

The arrival of Bruno Guimaraes could restrict Lewis-Skelly's minutes next season, but FourFourTwo understands that manager Mikel Arteta wants four players competing for the two places in the double-pivot, with Zubimendi, Lewis-Skelly and Guimaraes all battling for a spot alongside Declan Rice.

Lewis-Skelly also offers the versatility to play at left-back, which has attracted interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United.

As a homegrown teenager on a long-term contract, Arsenal are in a position where, if the 19-year-old were to leave, they would demand a record fee for him.

Fellow Hale End graduate Ethan Nwaneri is expected to leave this summer, with Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze and even Max Dowman providing competition in his positions.

Lewis-Skelly is valued at €45m by Transfermarkt. Arsenal face Coventry City on Matchday 1 of their Premier League title defence.
