Singer Rahul Sipligunj, known for the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu and his Bigg Boss Telugu 3 win, has been named in an FIR filed in Visakhapatnam over allegations of threats and harassment linked to a marriage- dispute.
According to a TV9 Telugu report, the FIR names Sipligunj along with 11 others.
The complainant alleges that Karpurapu Rahul Reddy, said to be Sipligunj’s brother-in-law, approached her claiming to be the singer’s relative under the pretext of marriage.
She further alleges he later threatened to leak her private pictures and videos, which she says damaged her honour and personal life.
She has also accused Sipligunj of threatening her and forcing her to record a video statement, though what that video contains isn’t known yet.
Based on her complaint, police have registered a case at MVP police station under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the IT Act, covering allegations of blackmail, threats and harassment. Sipligunj hasn’t issued any public response so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
The 36-year-old first gained popularity through independent music on YouTube before rising to fame with Naatu Naatu from RRRwhich won the Oscar for Best Original Song.
He later won Rs 1 crore from the Telangana government for the achievement and went on to win Bigg Boss Telugu 3.
He married Harinya Reddy in November 2025, and has recently lent his voice to songs in Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 and Guntur Kaaram.
