Toyota has launched the new 'Aero Black Edition' of its popular Urban Cruiser Highrider SUV in India. This limited-edition styling package adds blacked-out exterior elements to give the car a more aggressive and dark look. This package is available on select petrol and strong-hybrid variants of the Highrider.

Price and exterior changes

The Aero Black styling package has been priced at ₹ 31,999 and will be available for a limited period or while stocks last. Under this package, several important changes have been made to the exterior design of the car. These include black front grill upper garnish, front spoiler, headlamp garnish, tailgate garnish and rear spoiler. Along with this, the car also gets an exclusive 'Aero Black' limited-edition badge.

This package is available on G and V variants in Toyota's 'Midnight Black' shade. Customers can choose this package in both 'Neo Drive' and 'Strong Hybrid' engine options. In addition, for customers who want to give the car an even darker look, an 'All Black Package' is also offered at the dealer level at an additional charge.

Engine and performance

No mechanical changes have been made in this special edition. The original engine options in the Highrider have been retained.

The 'Neo Drive' option with the 1.5-litre petrol engine comes in both 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive configurations with manual and automatic transmissions. While the 'Strong Hybrid' system with e-Drive transmission delivers a claimed mileage of 27.97 kmpl, making it the most fuel-efficient SUV in its segment.

Features and other information

No changes have been made to the main cabin and features list of the car. It retains all the premium features like twin LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, ventilated leather seats, panoramic sunroof, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 360-degree camera. Reclining seats, separate AC vents and USB charging ports are also provided for the rear passengers.

Since its launch in 2022, the Hirider has crossed over 2 lakh sales in India. For customers who want to give their car a more attractive and bold look while retaining the features and performance of the original Highrider, this Aero Black package is a good choice.
