A very important meeting of the state cabinet was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. In this high-level meeting, many historic decisions have been taken to improve the future of the youth and higher education. The Cabinet has given its approval to a total of 10 important proposals, which will open new avenues of employment for the youth of the state in the coming time and the scope of education will also become much larger.

'Skilled Youth Programme' will continue for the next five years

The government has extended the 'Skilled Youth Programme' of Bihar Skill Development Mission for the next five years from the financial year 2026-27 to 2030-31 under the 'Double Employment-Double Income' vision of Saat Nishchay-3. For the smooth operation of this excellent scheme, the government has also approved a huge budget of Rs 430.0833 crore in the financial year 2026-27. The main objective of the government is to make our youth completely self-reliant and employable according to the demands of today's changing technology and modern industries.

Now youth will get training in AI, drones and coding

In view of today's digital era, a major change has also been made in the pattern of training. Now the youth will be trained in high-demand areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Solar Energy, Drone Technology, Computer Networking, Home Nursing, Multi-Skilled Lab Technician and Emergency Medical Technician, not just the old clichéd training. Apart from this, the youth will also be provided training in modern subjects like beauty and wellness, web information technology and digital marketing so that they can survive in the global market.

Every year 2.57 lakh youth will get benefit

According to the data, a total of 6,436 training centers will be run in the entire state under this wonderful scheme. A big target has been set to provide training to about 2.57 lakh youth every year through these centres. The government believes that after this training, not only will the doors of jobs open for the youth, but they will also be able to become a source of employment for others by starting their own business or startup.

New rule for admission in private ITI

The Cabinet has taken another big step to make the education and admission process of youth transparent. Now, admission to 50 percent of the total seats in private ITI institutes will be done through a joint entrance examination only. This system will bring complete transparency in the admission process and eligible students will get direct benefit from it.

The face of B.Ed colleges will change, new avenues will open.

Under the new guidelines of National Education Policy-2020 (NEP) and NCTE, single-stream private institutions of the state i.e. offering only B.Ed will now be upgraded as 'Multidisciplinary Degree Colleges'. The cabinet has also given green signal to this proposal. Under this, apart from B.Ed, other graduation courses like Arts, Science and Commerce can also be started in qualified teacher institutions.

Students will get many study options under one roof.

To start these new courses, all the standards and approvals set by the University, UGC, NCTE and State Government will have to be followed. The government believes that with this step, students will get the best options for higher education in their own home district or nearby areas. This will make it much easier to access higher education in the state and the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in higher education is also expected to reach a new high.
