Bhaskar Bureau, Bhopal.The Central Finance Commission will issue performance grant to Gram Panchayats only on the basis of tax collection and its gradual increase, the Gram Panchayats eligible to receive it will be identified only through the online payment receipt system of tax collection. Therefore, the Chief Executive Officers of all District and Janpad Panchayats should effectively implement the On Source Revenue Management Payment Gateway developed on the Panchayat Darpan Portal.

These latest instructions have been issued by Deepali Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department. In the instructions issued, it has been said that the Gram Panchayat users should login from the Panchayat Darpan portal and on the option ‘Online Tax Collection Consent’ given in the other section of the menu, after confirming the account details of the concerned Gram Panchayat etc., they should digitally sign the automatically generated sheet regarding the consent of receiving online payment from the citizens of the Gram Panchayat.

Prepare and lock the register of all the families of the Gram Panchayat from the option master data of the Tax Management section by entering the Samagra ID. Other institutions located in Gram Panchayats like banks, petrol pumps, warehouses, schools, colleges, industries etc. from which tax is collected, register them through the agency management option. Enter the settlements under the village from the Manage Habitation option. Taxes can also be paid through UPI, debit card, credit card or net banking and receipt can be received.

It has also been told in the instructions that other facilities for rural citizens like permission to cut/fall trees on private land, building permission, property tax details, complaints and feedback etc. are also available on this citizen service portal and in future, all rural citizen services will also be available under this portal.
