Ibrahim Zadram Completes 2000 Runs: Ibrahim Zadran made a big achievement by batting brilliantly in the fourth ODI against Ireland. Afghanistan’s opening batsman scored an excellent half-century in the match being played at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast and now he is moving towards his seventh ODI century. 24 year old Zadran’s innings played an important role in putting Afghanistan in a strong position.

Zadran created history even before completing his half-century. He completed his 2000 runs in ODI cricket. Zadran achieved this feat in his 45th ODI match and jointly reached third place in the list of batsmen in the world who have completed 2,000 ODI runs in the fewest innings. To reach this point, he needed only two runs, which he achieved in just three balls.

Shubman Gill tops the list
India’s Shubhman Gill leads this list, who had completed 2,000 ODI runs in only 38 innings. Hashim Amla of South Africa had touched this figure in 40 innings. Pakistan’s Zaheer Abbas and Babar Azam, England’s Kevin Pietersen and South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen completed 2,000 runs in the 45th innings. However, apart from Zadran, only Zaheer Abbas had achieved this feat in his 45th match.

Jadran can reach second place
If Zadran is successful in scoring a century against Ireland, he will reach second place in the list of batsmen who have scored the most ODI centuries for Afghanistan. Zadran currently has six ODI centuries in his name and he is joint second with Mohammad Shehzad. The record for scoring the most ODI centuries for Afghanistan is in the name of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who has scored nine centuries in 58 matches.
