US Blockade: US Army fired missiles at a Panama flagged ship crossing the Strait of Hormuz

Tehran. America has taken military action against a ship in the Gulf of Oman, increasing economic pressure on Iran. According to the US Army, this Panama-flagged ship was trying to avoid the US blockade of Iranian ports. US Central Command said the ship was warned to stop, but it disobeyed the order. After this the American helicopter fired missiles into the engine room of the ship, rendering the ship unable to move.

Why did America attack the ship?

According to the US military, the ship named MV Vela Nova was trying to bypass the US blockade of Iranian ports. US Central Command reported that the ship was warned to stop, but it did not heed the warning. After this, the American helicopter fired missiles targeting its engine room. The ship became inoperable after the attack. However, the US military did not say whether any crew members on board were harmed.

    What action has America taken so far to enforce the blockade?

    According to the US Central Command, it has diverted 55 commercial ships trying to break the blockade. Apart from this, three such ships were disabled which did not follow American orders. The US Army has also boarded two ships and taken action. It is clear from this that America is continuously increasing military pressure to enforce its blockade on Iranian ports.
