Director Mohit Suri’s romantic-action film Awarapan, released in 2007, is still very close to the hearts of cinema lovers. Recalling that period, Shriya said, “I was very disappointed and sad. As a newcomer, when you are ignored like this, that moment is very emotional and painful.” He believes that the team of the film had put their whole heart into it, especially co-star Emraan Hashmi and director Mohit Suri were deeply involved in the project, hence the box office results disappointed everyone.

Although the film did not do well at the box office, with time ‘Awarapan’ became one of the best cult classic films of Bollywood. Even today its songs like ‘To Phir Aao’ and ‘Tera Mera Rishta’ are a part of people’s playlists.
