Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition: Mahindra is preparing to unveil its electric SUV, the BE 6, in a fresh and more striking avatar. The company has released a new teaser for the Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition, offering a first glimpse of its design updates. Notably, this new model may differ significantly from the previous Formula E Edition, with a front design that more closely resembles the standard BE 6. The updated model is expected to adopt styling cues similar to the standard BE 6, featuring C-shaped DRLs, a Formula E theme, a sporty interior, and a 79 kWh battery.

C-Shaped DRLs

A key highlight of the new Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition could be its updated front design. The initial Formula E Edition featured round LED headlights and eyebrow-like LED DRLs—a design reminiscent of the Rall-E Concept that looked distinct from the standard BE 6.

For the new model, the company may opt for the C-shaped LED DRLs found on the standard BE 6. This design has already become a signature element of the BE 6, lending the SUV a more robust and aggressive appearance. Slim LED headlights and a redesigned bumper are also likely to be included, with the fog lights expected to be integrated into the bumper's styling.

Formula E Edition

The teaser showcases the new BE 6 Formula E Edition in a 'Tango Red' colour, though the company might offer multiple color options at launch. To accentuate the Formula E theme, the SUV is expected to feature several unique design elements.

These could include body decals with a 12-stripe Formula E theme, a Formula E badge on the front fender, and special graphics on the roof. Additionally, the alloy wheels are expected to sport a black finish. 'Firestorm Orange' could be used on the brake callipers, creating a striking contrast against the red body and black wheels.

interior

As for the interior, the new model is expected to retain the sporty ambiance of the previous Formula E Edition. It may feature 'Firestorm Orange' highlights. Elements such as the Formula E logo on the dashboard, FIA-branded seatbelts, and orange accents on the steering wheel could distinguish it from the standard BE 6.

Additionally, orange detailing is expected on the controller, start-stop button, and door straps. A race-style start/stop button flap and a special plaque featuring FIA and Formula E branding could also be part of the cabin.

battery

The previous Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition was equipped with a 79 kWh battery pack paired with a single rear-mounted electric motor. This motor delivered approximately 282 bhp. It also supported DC fast charging of up to 180 kW.

The earlier Formula E Edition was offered in FE2 and FE3 trims, with a production run limited to just 999 units. The FE3 trim included exclusive features such as adaptive suspension, R20 alloy wheels, and 'Night Train' carpet lamps. Similar premium features might also be reserved for specific trims of the new model.
