Design will be inspired by GT
The design of the new electric SUV looks quite sporty in the teaser pictures. It has a high and wide silhouette, wide fenders and an aggressive stance. The front flaunts AMG’s traditional vertical-slat grille design with LED daytime running lights. It is clear from this that the company is preparing to present it as a high-performance model instead of a normal electric SUV.

Circular LED taillights will be special
Circular LED taillights are shown at the rear of the SUV. These have an illumination pattern inspired by a three-pointed star. This design shows a connection to the AMG GT 4-Door. However, compared to the GT 4-Door, the new SUV has a single round taillight unit on each side.

AMG.EA platform expected
“Born in Affalterbach” has been used in Mercedes-AMG’s social media post. This suggests that the new SUV could be developed in-house at AMG’s Affalterbach headquarters. It is expected to get the AMG.EA platform, which is based on 800-volt electric architecture.

This platform includes technologies such as axial-flux electric motors and silicon-anode batteries. According to the company, this battery technology may have the ability to add a range of about 450 kilometers from about 11 minutes of charging.

Will the power be 1000+ HP?
The biggest discussion about the new SUV is about its potential power. However, the company has not yet confirmed the power output. The possibility of 1,000+ horsepower is being seen in conjunction with the 1,153 horsepower output of the AMG GT 4-Door. Therefore, this should be considered only as a probable figure for now.

What is the update on India launch?
Mercedes-AMG has not yet given any timeline for the India launch. The battery capacity, range, name and global launch date of the SUV have also not been revealed. All these information will be confirmed only after the upcoming official disclosure of the company.
