New Delhi: A huge buzz has started in the global market regarding the launch timeline of tech giant Apple's upcoming flagship iPhone 18 series. According to the latest leaked reports and supply chain indications, this time the company is going to make a big change in its decades-old tradition. Apple, which presents its entire iPhone series together in the month of September every year, can launch the iPhone 18 series in two different phases this time. Under this new strategy, premium models will be launched in the market first, while customers will have to wait a little longer for base and other affordable models.
Pro models can launch in September
According to a report by Taiwan's 'Economic Daily News' and claims by famous supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning a major overhaul of its shipment schedule.
If these speculations prove to be true, then in the month of September this year, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the much awaited iPhone Ultra will be introduced in the global market. Through this aggressive strategy, the company wants to woo the premium segment customers first.
Base and 'E' models will be introduced in March 2027
Supply chain sources say that the standard iPhone 18, the affordable iPhone 18E and the new iPhone Air 2 will enter markets around the world including India next year, i.e. around March 2027. Usually, Apple brings its iPhone series in September every year and the 'E' model a few months later, but with this new two-phase system, the company's focus on different segments will be more clear. iPhone 18 is expected to be launched in India around March 15, 2027.
Powerful camera and estimated price
Talking about the technical specifications, according to rumors, the iPhone 18 may have a 6.3-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display, which will support 120 Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness. For better performance, the phone is said to have next-generation A20 processor, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB initial storage. Apart from this, a 4,000 mAh battery and support for 25 watt wireless MagSafe charging can be seen in the device.
For photography enthusiasts, it can be provided with a 48-megapixel main OIS camera and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera, while an 18-megapixel selfie sensor is likely to be available at the front. The expected price of 256 GB base variant of iPhone 18 in the Indian market is expected to be around Rs 85,900, although official confirmation is yet to be received from the company.
