Nanded. The news of attack on Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal is coming to light in Nanded. Badal was attacked by Nihangs in a Gurudwara in Nanded. His hand was injured in the attack. He has been admitted to Yashomati Hospital. This information has been given by Nanded Police.

According to the police, Badal was attacked near a Gurudwara. After this he was admitted to the hospital. In a video viral on social media, Badal is seen going inside a building. A cloth is tied on his right hand.

Security personnel also injured in the attack

The attack took place at Gurudwara Mata Sahib Kaur in Nanded. It is being told that one of Badal's security personnel, Santosh Kendre, was also attacked. Initial information has revealed that Sukhbir Badal was attacked with a saber.

Sukhbir Badal had gone to Takht Sri Hazur Sahib with his wife.

Earlier in the day, Sukhbir Badal had gone to Takht Sri Hazur Sahib in Nanded with his wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Harsimrat Kaur Badal is an MP of Akali Dal. The attack took place around 11 in the morning.

Chief Minister Fadnavis ordered investigation

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has sought information from the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Nanded in the case of the attack. The Chief Minister's Office confirmed that one person has been immediately arrested in this case and orders have been given to investigate the motive behind the attack.

There has been a fatal attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal before also.

This is not the first time that such an attack has taken place on Sukhbir Singh Badal. In December 2024, there was a fatal attack on him outside the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Then he was serving as a guard as part of religious punishment. A person named Narayan Singh Chauda had fired at him. However, they had a narrow escape. Hamla was captured soon after.
