New Government Policy: To prevent misuse of government vehicles and cut administrative costs Central Government A very big and bold decision has been taken. Now the new policy of 'One Officer One Vehicle' has been strictly implemented in the country. The Department of Expenditure under the Union Ministry of Finance has issued an official Office Memorandum in this regard and has directed all the Ministries and Departments to strictly follow these rules. According to the new rules, senior officials will not get another government car, no matter how much additional charge they have.

No second car even though there is additional charge!

Often senior officers have additional charge of other organizations, public sector undertakings (PSUs) or autonomous bodies in addition to their original post. At that time, it was revealed that the officials were using more than one government vehicle. However, the Finance Ministry has clarified that an officer who has already received a government staff car for his original appointment will not be given another government car for any other additional responsibility.

Ban on private use of vehicles of PSUs and autonomous bodies

In another important decision, the Center has made it clear that the Central Officers will not be able to use the vehicles of Government Undertakings (PSUs), semi-government organizations or autonomous bodies for private use. These trains can be used only for official government visits. These new orders have been issued for more effective and strict enforcement of the Government Car Use Regulations issued in September 2022. This circular has been sent to all Union Ministries, Departments, Financial Advisers and Private Secretaries to Union Ministers.

Financial discipline and transparency will increase

The government believes that the principle of 'one officer, one government vehicle' will ensure proper and effective utilization of government resources. Because of:

Unnecessary fuel and maintenance costs will be reduced.

The practice of using multiple trains under different posts will be discontinued forever.

Transparency in governance and fiscal discipline will be strengthened.
