The trailer of 7 Dogs had introduced a high-action world featuring Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt along with Egyptian actors Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz. The film had been presented as an international action project and was scheduled to release in Indian theatres on August 21.
The trailer had shown a story filled with crime, danger and action sequences. The film had focused on a powerful criminal network called 7 Dogs and a dangerous drug named Pink Lady.
Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt had appeared together in the project after previously sharing screen space in films such as Saajan, Chal Mere Bhai and Yeh Hai Jalwa. Their latest collaboration had brought them together in a larger international setup.
The story had followed Interpol officer Khalid Al-Azzazi, who had arrested Ghali Abu Dawood, a senior member of a criminal organisation. According to the film’s storyline, the organisation had returned after a year with plans connected to the new drug. Khalid had then worked with Ghali because of his knowledge about the group.
The film had been directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who were known for their work on Bad Boys for Life and Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
The cast had included several international names, including Monica Bellucci, Martin Lawrence and Giancarlo Esposito. Tara Emad, Nasser Al-Qasabi and Max Huang had also been part of the film.
The action sequences had been created with the involvement of 87Eleven, the stunt company associated with the John Wick franchise. Veteran stunt designer Stephen Dunlevy had worked on the action design for the film.
Produced by Sela Studios with support from the General Entertainment Authority and Riyadh Season, 7 Dogs had brought together artists from India, Egypt, Europe and Hollywood.
The film had marked another collaboration between Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, with the duo appearing together in an international action project.
