Maddock Films has announced a new release date for Rajkumar Rao’s upcoming film Prahaar after delaying it from the earlier planned schedule of August 7.
According to a report, the makers had decided to postpone its release after discussions with the stakeholders, as they felt that it would not be advisable to release the film during that period.
On Thursday, the production house announced the date when this courtroom drama is going to hit the big screen.

Unveiling the date of October 16, the post was captioned, ” Ab hoga justice ka PRAHAAR on 16th October #PRAHAAR – The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam, in cinemas 16th October 2026”
The film is based on lawyer Ujjwal Nikam, who has handled many important cases in his career. But the teaser gives the impression that the makers have mainly focused on the Ajmal Kasab case.
The 41-year-old actor is stepping into the shoes of Nikam in the film, the character reflects his transformation and will also be seen speaking Marathi.

A few courtroom scenes are shown and there are several dialogue-heavy moments. Some of the dialogues are designed in a way that could get a reaction from cinema audiences.
The teaser runs for less than two minutes and mostly stays inside the courtroom world; however, It didn’t reveal much about the rest of Nikam’s life or other famous cases he handled.
The film also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikandar Kher. It has been directed by Avinash Arun.
