Delhi Weather: The weather suddenly changed in Delhi-NCR on Thursday afternoon and there was heavy rain in many areas. The rain brought relief from the humid heat for some time, but the traffic speed was affected due to waterlogging at many places. The Meteorological Department has predicted intermittent rain in Delhi and surrounding cities till August 19.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), 34.5 mm rainfall was recorded in Najafgarh between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm on Thursday. There was 26.2 mm rainfall in Ridge, 20.2 mm rainfall in Safdarjung and 12.6 mm rainfall in Palam. The minimum temperature in Delhi on Thursday was 28 degrees Celsius, which was 1 degree more than normal. The maximum temperature was recorded at around 35.2 degrees Celsius.

Chance of rain on Friday also

According to the Meteorological Department, the sky in Delhi will be generally cloudy on Friday. There may be light rain or drizzle between morning and afternoon. Very light to light rain is expected in many areas during the evening and night also. The minimum temperature can be between 26 to 28 degrees and the maximum temperature can be between 33 to 35 degrees Celsius.

No complete relief from humidity

Despite the rain, humidity remained in Delhi. In the last 24 hours, the maximum level of humidity was recorded at 95 percent and the minimum at 62 percent. During this period, there was light rain in many places and moderate rain in some areas. The minimum temperature increased by 1 to 2 degrees, while there was no major change in the maximum temperature.

There is no possibility of any major change in the maximum temperature in the next seven days. During this period, winds of 10-15 km/hour can blow from north-west direction in Delhi.
