Actor Rhea Chakraborty, who is currently seen in The Traitors Season 2, has spoken about the scrutiny she faced after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, saying on the show that she wants to be an “Innocent” after spending years under suspicion. Her remarks came during a conversation on the reality series, which premiered on Prime Video in India on August 13. When Karan asked Rhea whether she wanted to be an innocent or a traitor to survive in the show, she said, "I want to be an innocent. Iss saal hi actually mujhe clean chit mila hain, iss saal hi logo ko pata chala hai ki mai innocent hoon. Bohot der tak shaq mein rahi hoon toh woh itna pasand nahi hai ab mujhe. Kaafi saal kar liya hai maine (I have got the clean chit this year itself. People have realised that I am innocent. I have been under suspicion for a long time, and I do not like that feeling now. I have gone through it for years)." Rhea’s life was upended in 2020 after the death of her former boyfriend,   The Central Bureau of Investigation filed a closure report in the death case, clearing her of all charges. Rhea and her brother, Showik Chakraborty, were also arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a drug case related to Sushant. Following Sushant’s death in 2020, Rhea spent time in jail and also faced a social boycott. In previous interviews, she said the ordeal took a toll on her mental health and that she suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The Traitors is built around two groups. The Innocents must work together to identify and eliminate the hidden Traitors before they are removed from the competition. The Traitors, meanwhile, secretly plot against the others while trying to protect their own identities.
