West Ham line up Manchester United move for Harry Amass as Diouf closes in on exit

West Ham are preparing to make a move for Manchester United left-back Harry Amass, with the club expected to part ways with El Hadji Malick Diouf.

The relegated Hammers have received an offer from Brentford for Diouf worth £35m, which could rise to around £40m through potential add-ons.

Although the East London club had planned to keep Diouf as part of their push for promotion from the Championship, the bid now appears likely to be accepted, with the money set to be reinvested in the squad.

According to The Athletic, West Ham will turn to Manchester United's Amass as his replacement. The 19-year-old has remained with the Manchester United first-team group throughout pre-season, but he is open to leaving in search of regular game time.

Amass spent last season in the Championship on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City, although his spell with the latter was badly disrupted by injury.

Manchester United are aiming to sign a left-back this summer to provide competition and cover for Luke Shaw. The Red Devils have been linked with Newcastle United's Lewis Hall, while they are also keeping tabs on Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly. Any new arrival at left-back would clear the way for Amass to move on.
