Controversy has increased regarding the Shuddhi Havan held after the public meeting of Mallikarjun Kharge in Haldwani. Girish Chandra Pandey, president of the organization conducting the havan, has been described as the district co-minister of VHP.

Haldwani: After the public meeting of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, political and social controversy has increased regarding the Shuddhi Havan held at Ramlila Maidan. The name of Girish Chandra Pandey, President of Shri Ram Sena Charitable Service Trust, which organized the program, is associated with Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Keeping distance from the program, VHP has said that the matter should be taken into the cognizance of the organization and a decision on action will be taken.

Controversy increased after Shuddhi Havan

The controversy over the Shuddhi Havan organized after the public meeting of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge at Ramlila Maidan in Haldwani has deepened. This program was organized by Shri Ram Sena Charitable Service Trust. The president of the organization is Girish Chandra Pandey, whose name is also said to be associated with Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

According to VHP District Minister Girish Padalia, Girish Chandra Pandey was given the responsibility of District Co-Minister in the organization about two years ago. However, he clarified that the Shuddhi Havan program had no direct connection with Vishwa Hindu Parishad and described it as a personal program of the organization.

VHP distanced itself from the program

Despite VHP maintaining distance from the program, questions are being raised about Girish Chandra Pandey’s role in the organization. District Minister Girish Padalia said that the matter is in the cognizance of the organization and a decision will be taken on whatever is appropriate in the interest of the organization.

On the other hand, Girish Pandey claimed that he no longer has any connection with VHP. He said that he attends social and religious programs to Sanatan whenever he gets invitation.

According to Girish Pandey, Shri Ram Sena Charitable Service Trust was registered in February. The organization works on issues to Sanatan along with religious, social and cultural activities. Apart from this, Uttistha Bharat program is also being run to provide employment to the needy people.

Seven trustees in the organization, employment programs also

Girish Pandey said that there are seven members in the board of trustees of the organization. These include Secretary Ramji Awasthi, Treasurer Narendra Negi and spokesperson Lata Pant and others.

The organization has also claimed to connect needy people with self-employment. Under this, till now information has been given about cooperation in setting up barber shops at two places.

Meanwhile, after the controversy over Shuddhi Havan increased, discussion has also started regarding the old organizational affiliations of Girish Pandey. In the city, he has earlier been seen in programs to Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

Organization information started getting removed from social media profiles

After the controversy came to light, changes were also seen on the internet media. It has come to light that information to Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal has been removed from the social media profiles of some people including Girish Chandra Pandey.

There is information that some posts containing photographs with officials and workers associated with the organization have also been removed. However, no clear information has come from the concerned people regarding the reason behind these changes.

At present, the center of controversy is the alleged association of Shuddhi Havan and the organization organizing it with VHP. The organization has denied accepting the event as its official event, while the organization’s president is claiming otherwise regarding his current organizational ties. An eye is being kept on what further decision is taken by VHP in the matter.
