Ather Konarc is shaping up to be the brand’s most mainstream electric scooter yet, with multiple battery options, faster charging and new convenience features

Ather Energy is all set to launch its all-new Konarc electric scooter on 29th August at its annual Community Day event. Positioned below the performance-focused 450 series and the family-oriented Rizta, Konarc will be the first scooter based on Ather’s new EL platform. Ahead of its official debut, fresh details about its variants, battery options and features have surfaced online.

Six variants planned

As per the leaked information, Ather Konarc will be available in six variants. These include four S variants – SR1, SR2, SR3 and SR4 – along with two higher-spec Q variants, QR2 and QR3. This suggests Ather will offer Konarc across multiple price points, catering to buyers with different budget and range requirements.

The broader variant strategy is expected to help Konarc compete more effectively in the high-volume family electric scooter segment, where rivals like TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 and Hero Vida VX2 already offer multiple battery configurations.

New Bedrock battery with up to 200 km IDC range

One of the biggest highlights is the introduction of Ather’s new ‘Bedrock’ battery. Konarc is expected to be offered with multiple battery pack options, delivering IDC-certified ranges of 100 km, 125 km, 160 km and up to 200 km, depending on the variant.

This will give buyers considerably more choice than Ather’s existing lineup and allow the company to target both city commuters as well as users looking for longer riding range. While battery capacities are yet to be officially revealed, Ather had earlier confirmed that the EL platform can support battery packs ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh.

Built-in charger and faster charging

Another interesting feature expected with Konarc is a built-in 450W charger integrated into the scooter. Users can reportedly plug the scooter directly into a standard household socket using an attached charging cable, eliminating the need to carry an external charger. An optional additional 450W charger will also be available. When used together with the onboard charger, charging capacity increases to 900W, allowing the battery to charge from 0-80% in around two hours. Such a setup could make everyday charging much more convenient, especially for customers without dedicated charging infrastructure.

Quieter drivetrain, Airwalk feature

Unlike Ather’s existing scooters that produce a characteristic electric motor whine, Konarc’s drivetrain is said to operate almost silently. This could improve refinement and make the scooter feel more premium during everyday commuting. Another feature expected is Airwalk, which uses the electric motor to assist the rider while pushing or walking the scooter manually. This can prove useful in parking lots, ramps and other tight spaces where manoeuvring a heavy electric scooter can be cumbersome. Service intervals are also expected to improve, with Konarc likely requiring scheduled maintenance only once every 10,000 km or one year, whichever comes first.

Built for mainstream buyers

Earlier spy shots and official teasers have already revealed that Konarc adopts an all-new design philosophy compared to Ather’s sporty 450 range. It features a more upright riding position, spacious floorboard, comfortable seat and family-focused ergonomics. ,when Ather will reveal complete specifications, pricing and variant-wise features. With multiple battery options, practical charging solutions and a wider variant lineup, Konarc is expected to play a key role in expanding Ather’s presence in India’s fast-growing family electric scooter segment.
