Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has declined to get involved in speculation surrounding Rodri's future or a possible move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, making it clear that his full attention is on Sunday's Community Shield final.

Speaking before the match, Maresca accepted that the transfer window is still open and that both arrivals and departures could yet happen, but said he had seen Rodri at the club's training ground on Friday.

"First of all, the transfer window is open; we can buy players, we can sell players, anything can happen," Maresca said.

"I just saw Rodri now in the building, I gave him a big hug, he looks good, so we'll see what happens."

Rodri has been linked with a possible transfer to Barcelona, while City have also been reported to hold an interest in Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez.

Maresca said City could still add to their squad before the deadline, but underlined that preparing for his first final as manager is his main concern right now.

"For sure, there are things we need to do [in the transfer market]," he said. "It can be one, can be two, it depends also if players are going to leave."

He added: "There are 48 hours until a Final, my first Final in this club. My focus is how we can prepare in the best way for the game and try to win the Final."

When asked directly about Fernandez, Maresca refused to comment on a player who belongs to another club.

"It's a player from another club and I don't think it's correct to speak about other players," he said. "At the same time, I don't think it's correct when other clubs speak about our players. That's why I'm not going to say anything about players that are not with us."

City will take on Arsenal in the Community Shield on Sunday, with Maresca aiming to win his first trophy since taking charge of the club.
