The Chennai-based bikemaker Royal Enfield is presently one of the most well-known bikemakers in the country. Its entire brand is built on the base of petrol-powered motorcycles. However, recently the government of Delhi approved its EV Policy 2.0, under which, from April 1, 2028, Delhi will only allow the registration of new electric two-wheelers. Now, thankfully for Royal Enfield, the company has not ignored the electric transition. So, it will survive this ban with three of its electric motorcycles. Today, we will be talking about what these EV bikes from Royal Enfield are.

The first electric motorcycle from Royal Enfield, the Flying Flea C6, has already been launched in India. Its official launch took place in April this year. The Flying Flea C6 has been launched at a starting price of Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom), and buyers can also opt for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which reduces the initial purchase price to Rs 1.99 lakh.

Royal Enfield, with the Flying Flea C6, has not chased performance. Instead, it has focused on creating a lightweight and stylish urban motorcycle. It is inspired by the original Flying Flea military motorcycle from the 1940s. This EV motorcycle gets a unique minimalist design along with an aluminium girder front fork. It weighs just 124 kg, which makes it the lightest Royal Enfield ever produced.

Its power comes from an electric motor which makes 20 PS and 60 Nm of torque. As for the battery pack, it gets a 3.91 kWh battery pack, which, according to the company, claims a range of 154 km, along with a top speed of 115 kmph. The Flying Flea also gets five riding modes, adjustable regenerative braking, lean-sensitive traction control, switchable dual-channel ABS, a 3.5-inch TFT display, and a belt-drive system.

The second electric motorcycle under the Flying Flea brand will be the S6. Unlike the C6, which is the road-focused bike, the S6 is expected to target buyers looking for a scrambler with light off-road capability and a more rugged character.

It will share the same dedicated L platform as the C6. However, it will come offered with wire-spoke wheels, longer suspension travel, higher ground clearance, and a more adventure-oriented riding position. Royal Enfield is also expected to offer dedicated off-road riding modes, lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, connected features, and modern electronics.

Mechanically, the S6 is expected to remain the same. This means it will get the same 3.91 kWh battery pack as the C6, with a similar riding range of 154 km on a single full charge. As for the pricing, it is expected to be slightly higher due to its additional off-road equipment and premium positioning.

Last on this list is the Royal Enfield Him-E, which is basically Royal Enfield’s long-term vision for electric adventure touring. Unlike the Flying Flea bikes, which are more focused on everyday riding, the Him-E, which has already been showcased by the company, will be used for off-roading adventures.

The test mules of the Him-E have shown that it will borrow styling cues from the Himalayan range and will add an all-electric powertrain. It will also get wire-spoke wheels, long-travel suspension, and rugged bodywork designed for serious off-road riding.

The biggest highlight is expected to be a massive 14 kWh battery pack. This will make it by far the largest battery ever offered on a Royal Enfield motorcycle. It is also expected to become one of the most powerful motorcycles the company has ever built.
