Mitchell Starc is considered one of the best bowlers in the world today. Australia may be struggling against Bangladesh, but Starc has left Kapil Dev behind. Additionally, he will soon be among the top 10 bowlers in the list of bowlers who have taken the most Test wickets. He could achieve this milestone during the Bangladesh series.

Mitchell Starc took his second wicket on day two of the first Test between Australia and Bangladesh, surpassing one of India’s greatest cricketers, Kapil Dev. Starc now has 435 Test wickets. In 1994, Kapil Dev became the highest wicket-taker with 431 wickets, breaking New Zealand’s Richard Headley’s record. Kapil Dev retired from cricket just days after reaching the number one spot.

After completing 440 wickets, he will enter the top 10 bowlers in the list of bowlers with the most Test wickets.
As of today, Kapil Dev has dropped significantly in the top 10. Mitchell Starc has taken 435 wickets in 106 Tests. Now his next target will be South Africa’s Dale Steyn, who has taken 439 wickets in 93 Tests. However, the highest wicket-taker in Tests is Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka, who has 800 wickets. Dale Steyn is currently ranked 10th on the list, but once he reaches 440 wickets, Starc can move up to tenth place.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh have a firm grip on the match on the second day. Batting first, Australia could score only 198 runs. However, Bangladesh have now scored more than 300 runs. Their lead is now over 100 runs. Now, it remains to be seen how many more runs Bangladesh can score in this innings.
