Tezzbuzz Desk – President Draupadi Murmu addressed the countrymen on the eve of 80th Independence Day. In his address, he mentioned the achievements of the country's independence, national unity, Indian Army, action against terrorism, economy and Digital India. While wishing the countrymen a happy Independence Day, he said that in a few hours the 80th year of the country's independence will begin.

'Sardar Patel was the architect of unity'

President Murmu said that when India became independent, the country faced a big challenge of integration. Describing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as the architect of unity, he said that today India is moving rapidly towards becoming a modern nation.

He described the students of the country as the architects of India's future and said that the young generation will play an important role in the progress of the country.

'Operation Sindoor showed the strength of the army'

The President also mentioned 'Operation Sindoor' in his address. He said that this operation demonstrated the ability of the Indian Armed Forces to take precise action against terrorist networks.

Praising the courage and valor of the Indian Army, he said that the armed forces are working with full commitment for the security of the country.

The President described the decision to suspend the Indus Water Treaty with a country that harbors terrorism as a decisive step taken in the national interest. He said that its importance is especially for the farmers.

President bluntly to terrorists

Giving a strong message against terrorism, President Murmu said that wherever terrorists and those supporting them hide, they will have to face the punishment for their actions.

He also described the progress towards freeing the country from Naxalism as a major national achievement. The President also mentioned the rapid development taking place in Bastar and the cultural participation there.

Economy strong amid global challenges

The President said that the world is currently facing global instability, but despite this, India's economy remains strong. He said that the country's growth rate is estimated to be more than double the global average growth rate.

He also mentioned the steps taken for inclusive development in the last decade and said that these initiatives have brought more than 25 crore people out of poverty.

Boom in the world of Digital India

President Murmu also praised India's digital achievements. He said that more than half of the total real-time digital transactions in the world happen in India. He described it as an important example of the country's digital capability and technological progress.

Referring to the free ration scheme, the President said that it is ensuring food security for more than 80 crore beneficiaries.

Appreciation of all three armies and police forces

During his address, the President appreciated the dedication to duty of all armed police forces and police personnel, including the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

He also praised those Indians who are increasing the prestige of the country in different parts of the world. He also appreciated the contribution of officers and employees working in Indian embassies abroad.

The President's address focused on the country's achievements, national security and future expectations. While wishing the countrymen a happy Independence Day, he stressed the resolve to make India a stronger and developed nation.
