Manchester United are nearly set to start the new season.

They have played five pre-season matches, with just one left against former manager Ruben Amorim and AC Milan on Saturday afternoon in Poland.

The Red Devils have recorded two wins, two draws and one defeat, while also producing some attractive football during the summer.

United boss Michael Carrick gave a detailed interview to The Athletic in which he addressed a number of topics, including transfers, a possible title challenge and helping Kobbie Mainoo through a difficult World Cup.

Carrick was also asked about the unusual challenge of a documentary series following the club this season at the training ground and during matches.

The All or Nothing series will follow the example set by Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

The club have also agreed a record fee for allowing cameras into their dressing room.

Speaking to The Athletic about the series, Carrick downplayed the effect the filming would have on both his squad and himself.

Explaining what it has been like, he said, “that’s been fine. It’s obviously a little bit new, and unique, but the actual day-to-day workings of it, we have that many cameras around anyway that the boys are kind of half-used to it.”

Carrick added, “we’ve got to work through it, of course, but they’ve been respectful. It probably seems bigger from the outside than it is day-to-day when we’re working in it.”

United had been approached about the series before, but previous manager Amorim was against the idea.

The cameras will begin rolling when United travel to the MKM Stadium to face Hull City in their opening Premier League match of the season on 22nd August.
