According to the Meteorological Department, there is a 70 percent chance that there may be light rain of about 5 mm between 4 am and 6 am.

After this, there are chances of light drizzle of about 2 to 3 mm with 60 percent probability between 6 am to 9 am. However, some respite from rain or only light moisture may be felt at the time of the main ceremony and flag hoisting held at the Red Fort.

Chances of light rain in the afternoon and evening also

After the morning, from afternoon to evening, there is a 60 percent chance that another round of very light rain of up to 3 mm may be seen.

Rain and humidity continued on Friday also

On the other hand, rain continued in different areas of Delhi on Friday also. At some places light and at some places moderate rainfall was recorded. However, the humid heat also troubled people a bit at times.

On Friday, Delhi's maximum temperature was recorded at 30.5 degrees Celsius, 3.3 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was 27.8 degrees Celsius, 1.3 degrees above normal. The humidity level in the air was recorded at 62 to 98 percent. If we look at the rainfall data, a total of 5.8 mm rainfall was recorded till 5:30 pm.

Apart from this, rainfall was also recorded in various centers of Delhi, in which 8.4 mm rainfall was recorded in Palam, 3.2 mm in Lodhi Road, 1.8 mm in Ridge, 3.5 mm in Aya Nagar, 0.8 mm in Rajghat, 8.0 mm in Mayur Vihar and 15.0 mm in Pusa.

Rain will continue in Delhi till August 20

According to the long-term forecast of the Meteorological Department, intermittent rains will continue in Delhi till August 20. The weather will remain pleasant throughout this week and the maximum temperature is not expected to go above 35 degrees Celsius, which will provide relief to the people of Delhi from the scorching heat.
