Lucknow. Yogi government is preparing for big relief for the women of Uttar Pradesh. Brainstorming is going on at the government level on the proposal to provide financial assistance up to ₹ 50,000 to women in the state. However, it has not been decided yet whether this amount will be sent directly to the bank accounts of women or its benefits will be provided through different schemes.

Consider three options

The first option before the government is to send ₹ 50 thousand directly into the accounts of eligible women. Apart from this, consideration is also being given to providing assistance to women through new schemes to education, health and skill development. Under the third option, the scope of already running women welfare schemes can be increased.

Benefits of existing schemes may increase

Many schemes are already running for women and daughters in Uttar Pradesh. Under the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana, eligible girls are given phased financial assistance for education and health. At the same time, financial support is provided to needy women through the Destitute Women Pension Scheme.

Apart from this, under Rani Lakshmibai Mahila and Bal Samman Kosh, victims of serious violence and acid attacks are given help for treatment and rehabilitation. Efforts are also being made to strengthen women economically through Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme and self-help groups.

Emphasis on self-employment and self-reliance

The government is promoting initiatives like Self Help Groups and Lakhpati Didi to connect women with employment and self-employment. In such a situation, there is a possibility of linking the proposed assistance of ₹ 50 thousand with women's education, health, training or self-employment.

At present, no final decision has been taken regarding the assistance of ₹ 50 thousand. Only after the government makes the announcement and issues the eligibility rules, it will be clear which women will get its benefit and through which means the amount will be given.
