Starting today, the upcoming month is going to be an exciting one for all car buyers in India. Almost every major manufacturer is gearing up to launch new models and facelifts of a number of their popular models. So, if you are someone who was waiting for the festive season to arrive so that you can buy a new car, you have come to the right spot. Here are the details of the 10 new cars that are expected to launch over the next one month.
Mahindra will kick things off on August 14, which is today, with the launch of its new BE 6 Sporteq. The biggest highlight of this variant will be its redesigned cabin. It will now get the same triple-screen dashboard similar to the XEV 9E. Mahindra has also removed the halo-like partition between the driver and passenger. This will improve practicality by making the wireless charger, USB ports, and cup holders easier to access. The Sporteq will also get a new black-and-tan interior theme. It will retain the familiar battery options of 59 kWh and 79 kWh and offer up to 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque and a claimed range of around 682 km.

The company will also unveil the updated Formula E edition of the BE 6. Unlike the outgoing version, the new model appears to be based on the higher trims. This means it will get the full C-shaped LED DRLs and tail lamps. It will also feature Formula E badging, a matte orange exterior finish with black accents, racing-inspired cabin elements, and additional cosmetic upgrades. The battery pack and electric motor are expected to remain unchanged.

One of the most highly anticipated launches from Mahindra Automotive today at its Independence Day event will be the production version of the Scorpio-N-based pickup truck. Based on the Global Pik Up concept, it will feature a completely different front-end design, a larger grille, redesigned LED lighting, vertical tail lamps, and a practical load bed. On the inside, the teaser video has revealed that it will boast a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a large vertical touchscreen, an electronic parking brake, dual-zone climate control, terrain modes, ventilated seats, and Level 2 ADAS. Power will come from the same 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engines with manual, automatic, and 4×4 options.

Skoda has not given its popular mid-size sedan, the Slavia, a major update in a while. However, soon this will change. The company will be launching the updated Slavia on August 18. The facelift will give this sedan a revised grille, sleeker LED headlamps, redesigned alloy wheels, and connected LED tail lamps. The cabin will also offer subtle updates with a refreshed theme and a larger digital instrument cluster. Mechanically, the sedan will continue with the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. However, the smaller engine is expected to get a new 8-speed automatic transmission.

The next big launch from JSW MG Motor India will be on August 26, when it will be launching its new seven-seat electric SUV. It is expected to be called the Hector Hawk EV. It will become the first production model based on MG’s new ADAPT platform. The SUV is expected to offer a 69.2 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of around 530 km. Buyers can also expect a premium cabin, which will feature a large touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, connected car technology, Level 2 ADAS, and a seven-seat layout.
The South Korean carmaker Kia will also be entering the premium three-row SUV segment on September 4 with the Sorento. It will also become the company’s first strong hybrid model for India. The SUV will be offered with a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid powertrain. It will produce a combined 238 PS. There are reports that it will be offered with a 2.2-litre diesel engine as well. Other notable highlights will include twin 12.3-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, and six- or seven-seat configurations.

Maruti Suzuki has officially confirmed that the updated Baleno will debut on September 5. The premium hatchback is expected to get a revised front fascia with a new grille, updated bumper, fresh alloy wheels, and redesigned LED tail lamps. Meanwhile, on the inside, the cabin will get new upholstery, better materials, and most likely a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen. The existing petrol and CNG powertrains are expected to continue. However, it could also get Maruti’s affordable hybrid technology as well.

Tata Motors is also expected to introduce the facelifted Tigor before the festive season. This will be the first major generation change for this sedan. It will be inspired by the recently updated Tiago. The Tigor facelift sub-compact sedan will get a redesigned front fascia, slimmer LED lighting, new alloy wheels, and updated interiors. A larger touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and six airbags are also expected to be part of the package. Meanwhile, the petrol and CNG engine options will remain unchanged.

Alongside the petrol-powered model, Tata is also preparing to launch the updated Tigor.ev. The electric sedan, which was the first mass-market EV from the brand, will be getting a number of styling changes. These will be similar to the ICE version, along with a larger touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and improved cabin features. The familiar 26 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of around 315 km, is expected to be offered by the brand, like the Tiago.ev facelift.

Last on this list is the Renault Triber Turbo. Recently, it has been reported that the company is preparing to give the Triber the turbo-petrol engine which the buyers have been asking for for a long time. The MPV is expected to borrow the Kiger’s 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which will produce around 100 PS and 160 Nm. Initially, it will most likely be offered only with a manual gearbox. The turbo version will retain the facelift’s updated styling, premium cabin, automatic climate control, and extensive safety equipment. And this new motor will now make it a more complete package for family buyers.
